Employee Application

Employment with Backyard Buddies Childcare Program at FMC

Potential employees must submit an application with references checked by the Director of The After-School Care Program and be approved by First United Methodist Church’s Staff Parrish Committee.

The Backyard Buddies ministry at FMC should function as a team with the common goal of providing for all children while serving God. A caregiver’s main task is to ensure a safe, nurturing, and faithful environment for every child. To this end, caregivers are expected to get along with each other and work together.

  • A professional attitude is required at all times. Caregivers should treat each other with respect.
  • Arguing, bitterness, and sarcasm do not belong in the childcare ministry. Appropriate behaviors are always modeled for the children.
  • At times, for the benefit of the children, one caregiver may need to cover another’s responsibilities. Children are never made to feel as though they are a burden.
